Plagiarism Hero.

Coldplay, a band whose names has become synonymous with plagiarism, has somehow won a songwriting award from The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), for their hit single Viva la Vida http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/coldplay_win_songwriting_award.html

This came as a huge surprise to me, as the band has been accused of several accounts of plagiarism for their "Award winning" song. Both the Creaky Boards, and Joe Satriani has filed law suits against Coldplay for using excerpts from their respective songs. And to only make this situation even more bizarre Coldplay's Chris Martin has been nominated for an Oscar for another song writing award.

All and all this whole situation leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, by forcing me to ask the  question "How can an accused plagiarist be congratulated for thier ill-gotten works?".

  1. I had no idea that Coldplay invites such charges. By the way, what is the difference between "whose" and "who's"?
